What should have been an easy decision took a most tortured path as Circuit Court Judge Gibson finally ruled that the JCPS interviews of the Gilpin death must be disclosed. The criminal case and the civil case are different with different rules. The commonwealth is entitled to the statements and so will the defense. Now the findings and conclusions are another matter and not to be disclosed.

County Public Schools must give the commonwealth attorney's office its
interviews with players, coaches and other witnesses that are part of
its investigation into football player Max Gilpin's death last fall, a
judge ruled Friday.
