Elsewhere: Of Fleas, Blogs, and Client Control

The Divorce Law Journal, Indiana Law Blog and others are remarking on a litigant's blogging in the midst of a trial.  In one case achieving national attention (or notoriety), we find a doctor-defendant in a medical negligence case posting on his blog remarks about the counsel, jury and lawyers, and apparently divulging defense strategy, too!  The doctor aka "The Flea" fessed up in court and a confidential settlement was eventually reached.

There is no need for me to steal or borrow or borrow anymore of their journalistic thunder on this issue (than I already have), so please visit their respective sites and postings for more details of the actual lawsuit and events with links to the news stories elsewhere.

BTW, Dr. Flea apparently got "ticked" off as his blog is now silent: http://drfleablog.blogspot.com/

There are several postings on Dr. Flea's travails, and here is one by Dr. Flea when suit was filed:

I am certain that curiosity will be aroused as to the particulars of this case. For the moment, I hope it will suffice to say that I am neither careless, nor unskillful, nor negligent. In order to prove a "failure to diagnose" case in pediatrics, the plaintiff's attorney will need to convince a jury that the flea is an idiot.
